Look Out for Helga, the BSA Hawk!
The big news at the BSA national office this week is the arrival of a not-so-friendly Cooper’s hawk that has taken up residence in one of our trees out front.
The momma bird is very protective of the two or three babies in her nest. The attack count currently stands at eight, including our security director Charles, who has a nasty gash on his forehead. Early in the week it was kind of funny. Now that we’ve seen blood, not so much. The front parking lot is coned off to protect our visitors.
Special thanks and kudos to my colleague Brandon Krausse for getting these great photos.
BTW, we think it’s a Cooper’s, but some have said it’s a Red-Tail. Any thoughts?
